Blues face De Rossi battle

Chelsea are set to face stiff competition in their bid to sign Daniele De Rossi after Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly entered the race for the Italian's signature.

The 2013 Confederations Cup bronze medal winning midfielder is believed to have already handed in a transfer request at Roma, with the Blues thought to be keen on adding the 29-year-old to their ranks.

However, reports from across Europe now claim the Galacticos and La Parisiens are both also lining up their own bids for De Rossi, who is set to cost any potential suitor around £15million.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is already believed to have begun talks with the Giallorossi over De Rossi's sale, but the former Madrid boss faces a potential bidding war with his successor at the Bernabeu, Carlo Ancelotti, as well as Laurent Blanc, who took up the reins at PSG.
