Chelsea have loaned out Gael Kakuta and Patrick van Aanholt to Vitesse, also Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgan has been loaned back out to Zulte Waregem for the coming season.
Kakuta and van Aanholt extended their loan spells after featuring regularly for Vitesse last season, helping the team finish second in the Eredivise behind Ajax.
Chelsea have maintained strong ties with Vitesse over the years, playing a large role in Marco van Ginkel’s transfer to Stamford Bridge during the current transfer window.
Talking about loanings, Romelu Lukaku continued his hot scoring streak as Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea completed their pre-season tour of Asia with eight goals in a ruthless 8-1 destruction of the Indonesia XI at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
