Chelsea and Manchester United target set to sign new deal

Southampton are set to fend of interest from a host of top Premier League clubs and tie highly rated full back Luke Shaw to a long term contract at St Mary’s, according to theSouthern Daily Echo.
The England youth international is ready to sign a five-year-deal at the club this week after he celebrates his 18th birthday, putting to bed interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, who all became aware of his ability last season.
The signing of the contract will be seen as massive for Southampton, as it is a sign the club are no longer in a position where they are forced to sell their best young players.
The last few years has seen the club forced to sell homegrown stars such as Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Shaw is the latest in a long line of quality players to emerge from the Southampton youth set up, and began attracting attention with some excellent displays at left back in what was his debut season in the Premier League.
A summer move to one of the Premier League’s top clubs was often mentioned, but there will be relief at Southampton that the full back is ready to commit to the side who brought him through the ranks.
